Mohali. Police station Phase-8 has arrested three people for buying cheap diesel from Chandigarh through deluxe buses and selling it at high prices in Rajasthan. The accused have been identified as Nishan Singh r/o Ganganagar, Gurjit Singh r/o village Kakhawali, district Muktsar and Ramlal r/o village Jhanjharia, district Ganganagar. During interrogation of the police, it has come to light that the accused used to take diesel from here and sell it at a profit of Rs.10 per liter in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. On March 10, the police of Phase-8 had received a secret information that cheap diesel was being bought from Chandigarh and taken to Rajasthan every day in deluxe buses going to Rajasthan in an empty plot near Gurudwara Angitha Sahib Phase-8 Mohali. Acting on the basis of information, the police have recovered three drums filled with 100-100 liters of diesel and two cans of 50-50 liters in the cabin of the buses. At the same time, seven empty drums were also caught on the spot, which were filling them after taking out oil from the tanker. Police recovered about two thousand liters of diesel from these accused. The accused were presented in the court and remand was taken for two days.
