President Draupadi Murmu has reached Amritsar on a one-day visit. He was received at the airport by CM Bhagwant Mann and Governor Banwarilal Purohit. The President will stay in Amritsar for one day. This is Murmu’s first visit to Amritsar after assuming the office of the President. During this, she will pay obeisance at Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji and also pay obeisance at Jallianwala Bagh, Shri Durgiana Temple and Shri Ramtirtha.
Draupadi Murmu will reach Amritsar airport on Thursday at 12 noon. Due to this, Amritsar Airport Road will be completely closed from 12 to 1 pm. At the same time, two international flights will leave from Guru Ramdas International Airport between 12 and 2 pm. Due to which Air India has also issued instructions for the passengers. Air India’s flight to London will leave at 1.00 pm and the flight to Birmingham at 1.55 am. Due to this, passengers of both the flights have been instructed to reach Amritsar airport before 12 noon.
From the police administration to the civil administration has become alert in terms of security regarding the President’s visit. Police has divided the traffic into five zones today. A special road map has been prepared so that people and motorists do not face any problem.
DCP Law and Order Parminder Singh Bhandal said that in view of the arrival of the President of the country, the security of the city has been divided into five sectors and the road security system has been ensured. First, the President will visit Sri Darbar Sahib, Jallianwala Bagh, Sri Durgiana Temple and Sri Valmiki Tirtha from Sri Guru Ram Das International Airport. Keeping in mind that the public should not face any kind of traffic problem, the airport, hall gate, Sri Darbar Sahib road will be completely closed from 12 noon to 1 pm. This route will be closed again from 3 to 4 pm.
Traffic coming from Ajnala to Amritsar will be diverted from Amritsar Rural Police, Adda Rajasansi, GT Road from Jalandhar to Golden Gate to Valla, Verka Bypass to traffic from District Tarn Taran to Pul Kot, Traffic from Mitt Singh was directed to.
Similarly, traffic coming from Gate Hakima, Chowk Khazana from Jhabbal Road, Tara Wale Bridge from Lohagarh side, Ghee Mandi Chowk and Sultanwind Chowk will be diverted. During this, the entry of heavy vehicles into the city has also been completely banned.
