Apart from the Urban Local Bodies Department in Haryana, other departments will also give ownership rights to the people who have been occupying the land for more than 20 years. People will get this gift under the Chief Minister Urban Body Ownership Scheme. The government will prepare a new blueprint of the scheme. Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal has directed the officials of the Urban Local Bodies Department to prepare a draft plan for other departments.

Comments will be sought by sharing the new draft with the administrative secretaries of the concerned departments. The draft will be prepared in 15 days and sent for the approval of the Chief Minister and the Finance Department. Final approval will be taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers. In a meeting held with the administrative secretaries of the departments on Thursday, the Chief Secretary said that the Mukhyamantri Urban Body Ownership Scheme has been formulated to give ownership rights to the people who are in possession of the commercial land of the municipalities running on rent or lease for more than 20 years. Will be applicable in other departments also. This plan was made in June 2021.

This is how you will get benefit
As per the scheme, the people who have been in possession for 20 years are being given ownership rights on paying up to 80 per cent of the collector rate. 75 percent of the collector rate for people with 25 years, 70 percent for 30 years, 65 percent for 35 years, 60 percent for people up to 40 years, 55 percent for people up to 45 years and 50 percent for people up to 50 years There is a provision to give ownership rights on payment of 50 percent.

1130 applications linked to other departments
About 7 thousand applications were received during the first phase of the Mukhyamantri Urban Body Ownership Scheme. Letter of Intent (LOI) has been issued to 1730 applicants. As per the provisions, terms and conditions of the scheme, 1100 applications were rejected. 1130 applications were found in which the land is related to other departments, so other departments will also plan.
