During the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha, the MLAs will be entertained with dishes made of millet and other coarse grains. Agriculture and Welfare Minister Jai Prakash Dalal will give lunch on December 27. This time 52 MLAs gave 311 starred questions and 22 gave 171 unstarred questions. On Tuesday, Speaker Gyanchand Gupta selected 60 questions through a draw of lots for the three-day session in the presence of legislators. This time there has not been a single proposal to stop the work.

Gupta told reporters that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations has decided to observe 2023 as the Year of Millets. The Prime Minister has called for the promotion of coarse grains and foods made from them. It is being started from the winter session of the Vidhansabha.

The preparations for the winter session to be held from 26 to 28 December have been completed. The final decision on the duration of the session will be taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to be held on December 26. The session will run daily from 11 am to 6 pm. There will be one hour lunch break in between. The draw slips of the questions were taken out by MLAs Seema Trikha, Aseem Goyal, Pramod Vij, Balraj Kundu and Assembly Secretary Rajendra Kumar Nandal and secretariat officials under the supervision of Gupta. Gupta said that this time up to 75 percent work will be done through e-Vidhan only. Efforts will be made to take all the questions digitally.

Three bills will be presented
The Assembly Secretariat has received three bills from the state government till Tuesday afternoon. These include Haryana Urban Real Property Tax (List Validation) Repeal Bill 2022, Haryana Small Town (Tax-Validation) Repeal Bill 2022, Haryana Municipality (Tax-Validation) Repeal Bill 2022.

MLAs gave 25 calling attention proposals
The Vidhan Sabha has received notices of two private members’ resolutions. 25 calling attention motions, one short duration motion have been sent by the MLAs. At present, no information has been received for the adjournment motion. The Speaker informed that a security-related meeting will be held on December 22, in which instructions will be given to the officials to keep the security system tight during the session.
