Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the main conspirator in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, has been booked by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for his involvement in terror activities. The NIA has taken Lawrence, who is lodged in Bathinda jail, into its custody. Now he will be taken to Delhi on Thursday. Bathinda’s SSP J Elanchejian has confirmed this.
According to the information, it has come to light that the gangsters of Punjab and the terrorists sitting in Pakistan are linked. The terrorists are sitting there and carrying out the incidents through them. After this fact came to the fore, the NIA has started probing the matter.
After this raids were carried out at the houses and relatives of the gangsters and their close associates all over Punjab. Along with this, his property and bank accounts were searched. Many singers from Punjab were also interrogated. An attempt was also made to know from them that on behalf of which gangsters money is being invested in the industry.
Kharar was kept under tight security
After the name of Lawrence Bishnoi cropped up in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, the Punjab Police had brought him from Delhi on a production warrant. After this, he was interrogated under tight security by keeping him in the CIA staff at Kharar. On his tip many gangsters were arrested by the police. Police of several districts had taken Bishnoi on remand to investigate the cases registered in them.
