The debate started on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s statement of printing photos of Mata Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on Indian currency has reached Punjab. Manish Tewari, Congress MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib has supported Kejriwal. Tiwari said that I am not against Kejriwal’s statement. Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi have a special place in Indian culture and we pray to them before doing important work. So he is right on his part.

Tiwari said that the Indian currency is a reflection of sovereignty. Dr. Ambedkar gave constitutional status to that sovereignty. Dr. Ambedkar, Lord Ganesha-Goddess Lakshmi, mythological figures and even currency notes have the flexibility to accommodate the current figures.
