In Punjab and Haryana, there is competition over the price of sugarcane. In the last four years, the price of sugarcane in Punjab was Rs 310 per quintal. Last year, Punjab had reduced the rate of sugarcane to Rs 360 per quintal. At the same time, the price of sugarcane in Haryana was Rs 350 per quintal, at that time it was increased by Rs 12 to Rs 362 more than Punjab.

Now Punjab has increased the rate ahead of the crushing season. In such a situation, there has been pressure on the Haryana government to increase the price of sugarcane. There is a possibility that the state can also increase up to Rs 20. In this regard, Sugarfed Chairman Ramkarn Kala said that the Haryana government is farmer friendly. There is a demand of the farmers to increase the rate of sugarcane. A meeting has also been held with Chief Minister Manohar Lal regarding this. In the coming days, Haryana will also increase the rate of sugarcane. We are sure that the rate will be more than Punjab.

Sugarcane crushing will start in the first week of November

This time the crushing season of sugarcane in Haryana will start in the first week of November. All the preparations for this will be completed by the end of October. A target of crushing about 500 lakh quintals of sugarcane has been set during the current financial year. Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Banwari Lal gave this information.

The Cooperative Minister was presiding over the review meeting of the officers of the cooperative federation on Tuesday. He was accompanied by TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Department, Managing Director Hafed and Dairy Development A Srinivas, Managing Director Captain Manoj Kumar and officers of the Cooperative Department. The Cooperation Minister said that timely payment of amount to the farmers is the priority. The Cooperation Minister said that in order to make sugarcane seeds available to the farmers in future sugar mills, it should be ensured to register sugarcane farmers on Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal.
