After increasing the price of sugarcane by the Punjab government, now Haryana is also preparing to increase the rate. The Chief Minister of the state can announce it before the crushing session. Punjab has increased the rate by Rs 20 per quintal a day earlier. Now the rate of sugarcane in Punjab has gone up to Rs 380 per quintal, while in Haryana it is 362. For the last several years, the price of sugarcane in Haryana has been higher than that of Punjab. Sugarfed officials say that there is a preparation to increase the price of sugarcane from Punjab.
In Punjab and Haryana, there is competition over the price of sugarcane. In the last four years, the price of sugarcane in Punjab was Rs 310 per quintal. Last year, Punjab had reduced the rate of sugarcane to Rs 360 per quintal. At the same time, the price of sugarcane in Haryana was Rs 350 per quintal, at that time it was increased by Rs 12 to Rs 362 more than Punjab.
Now Punjab has increased the rate ahead of the crushing season. In such a situation, there has been pressure on the Haryana government to increase the price of sugarcane. There is a possibility that the state can also increase up to Rs 20. In this regard, Sugarfed Chairman Ramkarn Kala said that the Haryana government is farmer friendly. There is a demand of the farmers to increase the rate of sugarcane. A meeting has also been held with Chief Minister Manohar Lal regarding this. In the coming days, Haryana will also increase the rate of sugarcane. We are sure that the rate will be more than Punjab.
