Small towns of Punjab have won the zonal level award of cleanliness ranking announced by the central government. Gobindgarh was awarded the cleanest city in the category of North Zone having 50 thousand to one lakh population. In this category, Fazilka has won the Self Sustainable City Award. Nawashahr got the cleanest city award in the category of population of 25 to 50 thousand.
Dasuha in Citizens’ Feedback, Kurali in Innovation and Best Practice and Nangal City in Self Sustainable City in North Zone. In an area with a population of 15 to 25 thousand, the award for the cleanest city went to Moonak and the award for self-sustainable went to Bhikhi. In the category of population of 15 thousand, the award for Innovation and Best Practice went to Ghaga. However, in the list of big cities, no city of Punjab could make it to the top 50. Only Ferozepur’s name is in the top 100. Its rank is 85th.
Jalandhar’s eighth place in the cantonment
The result of Cantonment Board in cleanliness ranking has also been released. In this, Jalandhar Cantonment stood eighth, Ferozement 12th and Amritsar 37th. Maharashtra’s Deolili stood at the first position and Ahmedabad Cantt in the second place.
