A petition has been filed in the Punjab-Haryana High Court seeking protection for Christians on the basis of the attack on the church in Tarn Taran Patti. Hearing on this petition is possible next week. Chandigarh resident Sukhjinder Gill and others, while filing a petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court, have appealed to the Punjab government to issue directions regarding the safety of the people of Christianity.
It has been said in the petition that people of Christian faith are being targeted in Punjab. In the past, people of Christianity are feeling themselves insecure in Punjab. The incident of attack on the church has also raised questions on the law and order situation in Punjab. If the police does not act soon, then a situation of riots can arise in Punjab.
The petitioner said that everyone has the right to freedom in the Constitution and no one who is deprived of this right can be left like this. In the petition, an appeal has been made to issue directions to the Punjab government to ensure the safety of the people of Christian faith. This petition, filed in the High Court registry, will be heard next week.
